We were in the middle of taking Senior Tributes for the Football Cheerleaders and *BAM* the lights went out. Okay, so that's pretty normal, you expect it sometimes in a storm. Remember it had started storming earlier. We moved our photo session indoors. Well, inside, in a newly remodeled gym where things are stacked and piled everywhere and there are no windows....when the lights go out, IT'S DARK! You could have heard some of the girls scream halfway to Chillicothe! It sounded just like a horror flick and they were all the victim. ;o) lol Okay, not all....some of us don't mind the dark. Aimee and I were still playing, and this is what happens with a camera and flash in pitch black. :o) Thanks for the laughs Aimee!

A personal note...I had to watch as my 18-yr-old friend was laid to rest. Can I call her a friend? I think so. I laughed with her, listened to her jokes, consoled her more than once as she shed a tear for whatever adolescent reason she had her feelings hurt at the time. She was the first person to 'welcome' Taylor to high school. To make her feel included and unique. That it was okay to be herself, people will still love you anyway. Then I got to know Charly.
It was so hard to attend a funeral for a child. Yes, she was a young woman, about to embark on life as an adult as she graduated in just a few short months. But she was still a child. We all are to someone. As the mother of a teenager this was a different sort of shock to my system. I'd never known anyone personally her age to have died. Someone so close to my own daughter's age. How could she be there one minute, checking my groceries out at Hy-Vee, teasing my boys and gone the next? The last time she checked me out, I bought 5 boxes of tissues (among other things). How ironic that I would be packing one of those flowered boxes to her funeral only days later to dry my tears. How could I begin to comfort her mother who must be going through the most excruciating pain one could ever know? How could I protect my daughter from the same fate? A senseless accident. No one's fault. Just an unfortunate, senseless accident. As I took the extra time this week to laugh with my own children, to hug them tightly and feel their warm soft skin, smell their clean and shiny hair (and appreciate Tyler's fuzz!), listen to their arguing and for once love the sound of their screaming voices......I made another mental note on my list of questions to ask God someday. My "Why" list.
So guys remember (and gals) indulge your parents in a hug from time to time. It's necessary, it's okay, and sometimes it's the greatest most amazing lift to our day. Someday you will all understand.

A quick preview for Katherine as we're winding down the Senior Class of 2007. Photos should be turned into the yearbook staff now and I wanted to share a quick shot for Katherine. She has big plans after graduation of heading back to her hometown of Chicago. Good Luck and best wishes!
The THS Wrestlers are winding down their season. Memory mates have been taken and processed. They will be delivered to the school office sometime next week! Watch for them! Congratulations to the wrestlers and coaches on a great season.
Seniors - if you had your portraits taken and have yet to order your packages and/or prints you need to call the studio as soon as possible. In order to have your 3 prints to the school office in time for yearbook deadlines I need to have your image numbers to make copies for Mrs. Brinkley.
I cannot send digital files as Mrs. Brinkley has requested that she have prints sent to the school as she submits everything as hard copy, not computerized, for your yearbooks! There's still time, but don't wait too long! If I am unable to process them timely through the lab I will have to print them at my home image processors and cannot guarantee quality of the prints.

(FYI--Your three prints do not have to be of the same pose. You can have three separate poses or three of the same one. Whatever you decide. One is for the yearbook, one is for the newspaper, and one is for the display in the high school commons.)
Isn't it funny that Christmas has come and gone and we still manage to have 'fall colors' popping up here and there? Aaron loves to hunt and after seeing this photo of him it makes me wonder what he's thinking (or would be thinking if he were actually hunting!). ;o) I know.....probably about Crystal. ;o) LOL

Photos for JV and Varsity Boys Basketball will be taken on Monday, January 8th at 3:30 p.m. after school. Forms will be sent to school to be taken home this weekend. And remember it's not too late for sports buttons! Photos will be delivered to the school within a week to be distributed to the players.
It's over.....three days of non-stop basketball. And we were there to capture most all of it! ;o) Taylor and I that is. She helped tremendously and has a love for photography like her mother.
You can view photos from the shootout by going to the website, Look at Me Photography, enter the site then click on the proofing tab, and use shootout for the password. There are literally 100's of photos to browse. Maybe you have a friend from another school, cousin, boyfriend, girlfriend....share the password with them and spread the word of the NCMC Holiday Shootout Gallery. Lots of photos, lots of action! We had a great time!
To purchase photos, e-mail or call the studio with the image number and it will be retouched, cropped to your liking and sent to you for only $1.00 per image. You will receive them as jpg files and can then reproduce them for your own use however you wish. Print at your favorite photo printer, use them for scrapbooks, myspace, lockers, whatever you choose!
I have bleacher butt! Two days into the shootout and I still can't get enough basketball. It's my all-time favorite sport to watch (and play) and really pretty comical at times. You'd be surprised at some of the expressions on faces, the angles you can twist your body in motion. It's hilarious! Here's just a quick peek at some of the boys game on Wednesday. I sat (and walked around) for 11 hours watching and photographing basketball. And Taylor was right there with me! I don't know who loves it more, me or her. Thursday was a slower day for me. I had other work to tend to and didn't get to watch the entire day. But it's Friday and I'm up...showered and ready to head to town! Shootout here we come! (trouble uploading...keep checking back for more--they're good!)

The password is Shootout share it with your friends and everyone you know! Maybe you have friends from another high school that was at the shootout or cousins who play for another team. I tried to take as many as I could from each day, and some games I had requests for more from parents and grandparents. So if you see more of one school than another, consider me old. I get caught up watching and forget to photograph on occasion--so I had the 'assistant' Taylor helped me and she got some incredible shots too! I think she has a love for her mother's hobby. :o) She's a lot of help to me in more ways than one when it comes to my photography.
Talk about dizzy. The first home game I thought I was going to actually get a chance to sit, relax (okay...play with my camera) and enjoy, and I'm reminded I have a Christmas program to attend for my son. So I went to watch the girls warm up at 5, game at 6 which I got to watch 3/4 of, rush to R-6 to the program, (listen to the rest of the girls game on the radio in the parking lot), enjoy my son's Christmas program, then head back to town to watch the end of the boys game. Which was just to pass time. If I hadn't been waiting on a pizza I probably would have gone straight home. I love to watch the games, but sometimes......it hurts. ;o) I got so frustrated watching the JV game Thursday at Unionville I bit my lip chewing my gum so hard that I bled for hours. You know that instant pain that brings tears to your eyes....bit it hard, still feeling it two days later kinda pain. I didn't have a lot of time for pictures last night but here's a few favs:

We're slaving away here at the studio during the holidays! It's a hectic time for Look at Me and soooo much to do and so little time to do it in! Thanks for all your patience and understanding during this busy season. I'm punching out holiday sessions as fast as I can!

Josh came to Look at Me for his THS Senior portraits with Whitney (*wink*wink*). We had a good time and I think he enjoyed his session. Very laid back and easy-going, Josh can have you laughing in no time.

A recent THS senior from Look at Me! Koty scoped out some awesome locations before his session. I had to think of nothing, just enjoyed shooting! You had me thinking "outside the box" and I was so excited with the places you picked for your portraits. I hope you enjoyed your session and loved your portraits! Thanks Koty!
Holy Cow I'm busy at the studio! And trying to go to all the ball games I can! I'm missing out working so much. But it was great to see the JV girls/boys back in action. After having their tournament cancelled due to the weather it was almost like we hadn't started a season yet. So Thursday and Friday having two games back to back was great.
Sorry I don't have any snapshots to share, my camera went on vacation to Wyoming and it hasn't returned yet! (literally) ;o) I taught my dad how to use my new P&S camera and it went on vacation. They are back today and I should be able to post some previews from this weeks games! The boys brought home a win over Marceline last night and after a lot of hard work and much effort the girls lost, sadly, by three to the lady Tigers. We need to focus on TEAMwork and stamina! (In my humble opinion....) Our girls look tired and need to run more. Or maybe I just watch too many basketball movies. Where's Coach Carter when you need him?! ;o) LOL
I've managed to cover pictures for girls jv and varsity basketball (middle school too), basketball cheerleaders, and wrestling cheerleaders. Thanks again to coaches and sponsors who came to Look at Me for their sports photos. I have so much fun photographing the kids and trying to keep things different and more like what the teens want, rather than boring traditional stuff.
